Our main fabrics are fine silks, linens and cottons of which we hold a wide stock of the most popular colours and patterns. These fabrics are selected not just for their aesthetic but also for their durability and workability. We can of course also source specific fabrics to meet the clients’ requirements.
Most lamp shades have an inner lining of PET foil that serves to reflect light, provides a degree of background stiffness to the fabric and protects it from the heat generated by the light bulb.
Our bases and stands are made from carefully selected timber, mainly elm wood, chosen for its richness of colour and grain, resistance to warping and suitability for graceful and slender structures.
The standard length for cables is 2 metres for table lamps and 4 metres for floor lamps which will suit most customer needs.
Our lamp shades start out as simple metal rods that are then shaped and formed, by our skilled technicians, and welded together to form the lamp shade cages. Our seamstresses will then carefully cut individual panels of foil lining and apply it to the cage. Only when this is complete can the fabric be cut and stitched into place so that it fits perfectly.
If these shades are destined for floor or table lamps the technicians will then complete the final assembly including the installation of the wiring plugs and dimmer switches.
